john Knox Village Master Plan

Gallo Herbert Architects team was retained by John Knox Village to develop Integrated Programming, Architectural Vision & Guidelines and to manage a Comprehensive Master Plan/Near Term Re-positioning program. This focused effort was guided by the signature Gallo Herbert Architects approach of market analysis and re-positioning, operational strategy and a sound fiscally responsible financial tapestry. This program was initiated in order to launch John Knox Village into the next paradigm of senior housing and extended care. The campus, located in Pompano Beach, Florida had an established history as a premier provider in the CCRC Sector. The 68 acre tract of land is one of the largest of its kind within the city limits and carries its own distinctive zoning designation. As a new generation emerges into the senior housing sector, current approaches are challenged to sustain their needs. The fast pace of technology, combined with mobility and post retirement choices, demands active design solutions to provide the amenities required for this fast growing lifestyle. John Knox Village has always “jumped the market” in establishing best practices in this domain. This capital investment program, designed to upgrade the campus was their most ambitious to date. Gallo Herbert Architects team was honored to offer its expertise and guidance to turn this vision into reality

JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY MASTER PLAN

William J. Gallo served as the Owner’s Rep and Planner for the Johnson and Wales University Master Plan. The master plan for Johnson & Wales University is a development road map that allows the university to grow from 2,000 students in 2001 to up to 4,000 students twenty years. The plan establishes an Overlay zoning district and sets forth parameters and a vision for this district as relates to streetscapes, architectural design, way finding, infrastructure, traffic planning and a general integration of the university into the fabric of North Miami. The master plan was established through the involvement of all stakeholders: the university, the community, the municipal entity and various commercial and residential associations. The plan encompasses the area from 135th Street on the north, 123rd Street on the south, Biscayne Boulevard on the east and 16th Avenue on the west. The Gallo Herbert Architects team coordinated all Community Engagement as well as processed all Municipal entitlements.
