John Knox village, the woodlands

John Knox Village is a 69 Acre CCRC in Pompano Beach, Florida. It is composed of approximately 700 residents living within a natural bucholic environment. The facility was desirous of re-purposing its Health Care by proposing a two-phase endeavor that is simultaneous in planning and sequential in construction. The first phase is a 144 resident skilled nursing facility built upon the GreenHouse Model of care. The second phase is the renovation of the existing Health Center into a like new 50 bed Resident Facility, incorporating the concepts of the GreenHouse model. The GreenHouse model is based upon small group living environments wherein each resident has control over their activities and care. The design encourages social interaction, life enrichment and continued growth through the use of a resident-based care model and a design which invites the natural environment via light, fresh air and views to the bucholic campus.
