CATHOLIC HEALTH SERVICES, ST. ANTHONY'S REHABILITATION HOSPITAL
Gallo Herbert Architects renovated an existing assisted living facility (ALF) to accommodate a new 27-bed rehabilitation hospital and aquatic therapy pool. The project was unique in that it was carved from the existing ALF structure by taking one floor and half of the elevated parking level below the existing structure. The project created numerous code challenges in that the Rehab Hospital portion would be governed for design and construction by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration while the remainder of the building, the former ALF, would be controlled by the Florida Building Code. The facility remained open during the entire renovation process.
John Knox Village, resort pool & tropics center
The project is one of the smaller phases scheduled over the next decade that will completely transform the village. This phase consists of two 5,000 S.F. pools, recreational accommodation such as professional USAPA Pickle ball courts, European styled Bocce courts and a 25 Meter lap pool. The project will also provide a 3,500 S.F. Multi-functional Pavilion, with outdoor dining, bar, and a state of the art Audio Visual system. Large shade sails are being implemented to create an inviting environment, where protected residents can lounge, converse around strategically placed fire-pits, or simply listen to live music staged on the premises. In addition, the adjacent newly renovated Village Center will be up fitted with a refreshed auditorium, event spaces, conference rooms and a new 75 seat restaurant overlooking the proposed lagoon pool.
Surgical Center
The Center of Surgical Excellence is an outpatient facility that provides a range of medical care services for individuals. The center is certified by the Agency for Health Care Administration and The Joint Commission. It maintains a staff of board-certified physicians, surgeons and anesthesiologists. The Center of Surgical Excellence conducts several surgical procedures on site, such as colonoscopy and endoscopy . In addition, it organizes ongoing educational programs. The center features endoscopy and private consulting suites and pre and post-op surgery rooms. In addition, The Center of Surgical Excellence offers 24-hour emergency services. The center is located in Venice, Florida.
John Knox Village, Welcome & Innovation center
The site selected for this key project is at the main entry to the John Knox Village campus with the intention that the building to be designed illustrate an aesthetic that would be the envisioned re-purposing of this 50-year-old Continuing Care Retirement Community. Additionally, the site had numerous challenges relating to former utility easements, exotic trees, access and an adjacency to an off-site industrial zone, scheduled to be re-developed in the next 10 years. Essentially, this building design had to resolve all the social, aesthetic, and urban redevelopment issues outlined but it also had to function as a newly created welcome, innovation and sales center that would signal the intent of the newly envisioned lifestyle of the community.
Casa sant’ angelo, independent living residences
Casa Sant’ Angelo is a 5-story, 113 unit Affordable Senior Living Facility in Miramar, Florida. The project is located on the campus of Saint John XXIII Catholic Parish.
West gables, skilled nursing facility
Marquis Healthcare Group with The Healthcare Contracting Group has begun design of a five story Nursing and Assisted Living Home located on Sunset Drive, west of the Don Shula Expressway. The facility will be a state of the art residence with one hundred and eighty single occupant bed rooms. The common amenities include numerous activities as well as physical and occupational therapy space and therapy pool.
